![]() ![]() Here’s hoping that Yu Yu Hakusho’s absolute bop of a theme song is incorporated somehow. (Including Tiger and Bunny 2, new Detective Conan adventures, and Aggretsuko season 4.) ![]() Like with Yu Yu Hakusho, details are scarce on most of them, but the slate is also full of new seasons for recent hits (like the Ultraman reboot) and old favorites. ![]() The announcement is one of the highlights from Netflix’s Japan Festival 2021, in which the streamer unveiled a massive slate of anime and anime-inspired projects currently in production. After passing a test, he’s offered the chance to return to his body, and becomes an underworld detective, investigating supernatural events in the land of the living. Since this was an uncharacteristically selfless act, the denizens of the afterlife are at a loss with what to do with him, since he would’ve been hell-bound were it not for his sudden altruism. In a medium full of great premises, Yu Yu Hakusho’s is an all-timer: Yusuke Urameshi is a teen punk who is hit by a car and killed when he tries to save a child caught in its path. The news, tweeted out by Netflix, is scant on details but the company says the series will arrive in December 2023. Yu Yu Hakusho balanced many tones during its airing, and one tone it certainly nailed is humor.Just two weeks before Netflix drops Cowboy Bebop, a live-action adaptation of a beloved ‘90s anime, the streaming giant has announced another: Yu Yu Hakusho, the acclaimed manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, which was adapted into an acclaimed anime series by Studio Pierrot. These scenes speak to the show's ability to balance thrilling battles, dire stakes, and amusing micro-moments masterfully, which people can continue to enjoy long after the series has ended. He is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Chuck Huber, Kirk Thornton and James Stanley in the English version of the anime. There are plenty of moments in the dubbed version of Yu Yu Hakusho that are worth remembering and looking back on fondly. Hiei (, 'Flying Shadow'), also known as Jaganshi Hiei (Jaganshi is an epithet meaning 'Master of the Evil Eye'), is a main character in the anime and manga YuYu Hakusho. His monotonous tone as he carries on with the charade makes this moment particularly comical. It's especially amusing that Kuwabara goes along with it so easily, posing relevant questions in spite of his initial "Oh, great, here we go" response. Mimicking something like an ad from the shopping network, Botan enlists Kuwabara's help in elaborating on the device's functionality. In Episode 70, this device is introduced by Botan, who explains how it works in a very comedic fashion. The Mejiru Seal is a spirit detective device that is used to monitor the health of those who attach it to someone else. Spirited moments like these sprinkled throughout the series make Yu Yu Hakusho a joy to watch again and again. This claim leads to them playing several more rounds until Kuwabara is ultimately the victor once more. His height is never mentioned in the anime or manga, aside from the DT reference. At the end of the series, an artbook puts him at 53'. Kuwabara wins the first round and that should be that however, perceptive and serious Hiei is swift to remark that Kuwabara delayed his choice a fraction of a second after Kurama and himself. Hiei is the shortest of the four main characters at only 4 10' during the Dark Tournament (excluding his hair) as stated by Juri. Kurama patiently explains the rules, Hiei mentions dismissively that it's a simple game. Hiei, having limited experience in the human realm, doesn't know what Rock, Paper, Scissors is and gets frustrated when Kuwabara comments on his lack of knowledge. However, the character also resembles Hiei from Togashis other magnum opus, Yu Yu Hakusho. When attempting to decide who should fight in the next battle of the Dark Tournament, Kurama suggests that Team Urameshi play Rock, Paper, Scissors. International investing can be an effective way to. Hiei, who is not only non-human but also an imposing fighter, betrays some of his ignorance in this specific interaction. I'm rather tired so I'll just make a list of the majority of this shit. His species of Yokai is a Dodomeki (more on this later). Especially over something that seems so simple. Hiei is loosely based off Erlang Shen a mythical warrior who is related to the Jade Emperor, the King of Heaven in Chinese religion. It's always fun to see a character that feels larger than life in a situation that's out of their element. Check out Hiei stickers from Yuyu Hakusho. ![]()
